The anti-corruption body Lokpal has issued an order for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate allegations of corruption against Mahua Moitra, a Member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress. This information was shared by BJP’s Nishikant Dubey on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A rough translation of Mr. Dubey’s tweet reads, “Lokpal has initiated a CBI inquiry into Mahua Moitra’s alleged corruption, which poses a threat to national security, based on my complaint.”

Nishikant Dubey has accused Ms. Moitra of accepting financial benefits from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for posing questions in Parliament on his behalf, with the intention of targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the business competitor, Adani Group.

Additionally, Mr. Dubey has asserted that Ms. Moitra jeopardized national security by sharing her parliamentary login credentials with the businessman.

In a letter addressed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Mr. Dubey has called for the immediate suspension of Mahua Moitra from her parliamentary duties.
