At the SEMICON 2024 conference in Greater Noida, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of resilient supply chains for economic stability. In his address, Modi presented India’s reformist policies, stable governance, and burgeoning technology sector as a foundation for attracting semiconductor investments. He expressed a bold vision: “It is our dream to have an Indian-made chip in every device in the world.”

He outlined the government’s commitment to making India a semiconductor powerhouse, emphasizing the ‘Three-D Power’—reformist policies, a growing manufacturing base, and an aspirational technology market—that drives this ambition.

Modi reassured potential investors of India’s reliability, stating, “When the chips are down, you can bet on India.” He also noted that over ₹1.5 lakh crore has already been committed to semiconductor projects, with several more in development.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect a strategic push to position India as a global leader in semiconductor production. This aligns with broader goals to enhance technological capabilities and ensure supply chain security in a critical sector.
