Five-Year-Old Dies in Vellore After Electric Pole Accident

In a tragic accident in Gudiyatham, Vellore, a five-year-old girl lost her life when an electric pole fell on her while she was playing in front of her house. The incident occurred around noon in Nathamedu village.

Authorities reported that a coconut tree was being cut down in a nearby farmland when it unexpectedly fell onto an electric wire. The impact caused the electric pole in front of the girl’s home to break and collapse, fatally injuring her. A dog caught in the live wire also died in the accident.

Police and electricity board officials promptly responded to the scene, recovered the child’s body, and transported it to Gudiyatham Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The deceased, Navya, was one of four daughters of construction worker Kumar and his wife Janaki.

Further investigations are underway to assess the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
