In a recent press conference, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai leveled serious accusations against Chief Minister MK Stalin, alleging obstruction in CBI inquiries into two critical cases: the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy and the murder of BSP state president K Armstrong.

Annamalai minced no words as he challenged CM Stalin to retract the withdrawal of prosecution sanctions that have reportedly hindered CBI investigations into these cases. “If the CM has guts, let him pull back the withdrawal of prosecution sanction to the CBI,” Annamalai asserted, emphasizing the BJP’s stance on ensuring justice and transparency in these sensitive matters.

The BJP leader’s remarks came on the heels of his court appearance in Saidapet, related to a defamation suit against DMK organization secretary RS Bharathi. Annamalai seeks Rs 1 crore in damages over allegations linking him to the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy, which he vehemently denies.

Addressing the media, Annamalai condemned Bharathi’s allegations, describing them as deeply distressing. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to pursuing the defamation case to its rightful conclusion, underscoring the gravity of the accusations and their impact on his reputation.

Furthermore, Annamalai disclosed that the BJP has approached the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and the NHRC (National Human Rights Commission) regarding these issues, seeking their intervention and support in ensuring justice prevails.

Turning to another controversy, Annamalai also brought attention to the criminal allegations against TNCC president K Selvapernthagai. He highlighted Selvapernthagai’s past detention under the Goondas Act during former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s tenure, asserting the necessity of addressing these concerns given recent accusations.

The unfolding developments underscore the tense political climate in Tamil Nadu, with accusations and legal battles intensifying as stakeholders navigate complex socio-political challenges.
