TVK to Shape 2026 Tamil Nadu Polls, Vijay Declares Political Battle
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder and actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay asserted that the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be a direct contest between his party and the DMK. Speaking at the TVK State Conference in Madurai, Mr. Vijay emphasized that his party aims to script a new chapter in the state’s political history, akin to the landmark victories of regional parties in 1967 and 1977.

Addressing the gathering, Vijay criticized the AIADMK-BJP alliance and accused the Central government of neglecting the welfare of Tamil Nadu’s people. He highlighted that the TVK embodies the voice of the people, describing it as an “unstoppable voice” and an “unstoppable force.”

Responding to skeptics questioning his party’s electoral prospects, Mr. Vijay expressed confidence that the TVK’s achievements will silence critics and establish the party as a key player in Tamil Nadu politics.
