Allegations Fly as TDP Accuses Liquor Distribution at Jagan Reddy’s Rally

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leveled accusations on Sunday, claiming that liquor distribution took place to boost attendance at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s public meeting in Addanki.

In a video shared by the TDP, individuals were seen seated inside a bus, holding and consuming liquor bottles, purportedly before attending the rally. The party questioned whether the attendance at Jagan Mohan Reddy’s public meeting would have been as high without the provision of liquor.

Meanwhile, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), boasted of a massive turnout, with over 15 lakh people reportedly attending the public meeting named ‘Siddham’ (ready).

However, TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh alleged that green mats were used to mask the sparse attendance at the meeting. He further claimed that the delayed start of the public meeting, by an hour and a half, was due to the lack of attendees, indicating, according to Lokesh, that Jagan Reddy’s era was nearing its end.

In response, YSRCP shared a video showcasing a crowd gathered outside the venue of the meeting, refuting the TDP’s claims of sparse attendance. The party criticized Nara Lokesh, referring to him as ‘pappu,’ and emphasized that they do not engage in tactics such as using graphics or green mats to manipulate crowd perception.

As allegations continue to circulate and political tensions escalate, the battle for public support intensifies in Andhra Pradesh, setting the stage for a fiercely contested electoral landscape.
